- RIO DE JANEIRO (TNND) — Two helicopters collided over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning, crashing in the city's western area. All six people aboard were killed in the crash, including American singer and comedian Oliver Tree, according to firefighters.
Rio de Janeiro's Military Fire Department shared that one helicopter crashed into the parking lot of a car dealership and ignited a fire. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Officials have yet to determine the cause of the collision.

- FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS remain in effect until 10:45 a.m. for Bexar County, as well as Medina, Kendall and Northeastern Maverick Counties, where heavy thunderstorms have already dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain.
Additional rainfall is possible, raising concerns for dangerous flash flooding near creeks, low-water crossings and flood-prone roads.
A Flood Watch remains in effect through 7 p.m. Tuesday for all of South Central Texas as a tropical moisture-rich air mass continues to fuel rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Forecasters warn that flooding could develop quickly where storms repeatedly move over the same locations.
Radar early this morning shows the heaviest rainfall stretching across portions of the Hill Country, including areas near Bandera, Boerne, Bulverde, Canyon Lake and New Braunfels. Rainfall rates have approached or exceeded 1 inch per hour in some locations.

- SAN ANTONIO — A man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck during an altercation along the River Walk early Sunday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Losoya Street on the river level behind a hotel.

Police said some type of altercation occurred before a male victim was stabbed in the neck area. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the altercation and the subsequent stabbing.

- At 12:00 a.m. Saturday, a post-9/11 law allowing the federal government to gather intelligence on foreign nationals will expire after the House of Representatives failed to extend it.
On Thursday, 19 Republicans and 199 Democrats voted against a short-term renewal of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which gives intelligence officials authority to surveil the communications of foreign nationals outside of the United States without obtaining a warrant from a judge.
Some of the lawmakers who opposed the extension, like Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., argued Section 702 was unconstitutional from the moment former President George W. Bush signed it into law in 2008.
"There’s only one way to fix it: Require warrants, judicial warrants," Massie said.

Midland Police responded to an active shooter incident Friday morning in the 4600 block of West Wall Street.
Officers heard gunfire coming from the building and worked quickly to secure and clear the area.
Armored units were deployed, and partner agencies assisted in the response.
Efforts to bring the standoff with the shooter to a safe resolution are ongoing.

- The UT San Antonio Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) invites the community to experience “Puro Conjunto: Border(less) Sound,” a new exhibition exploring the history, cultural traditions and enduring influence of conjunto music in Texas and beyond starting Thursday, June 11. Visitors will be immersed in rare artifacts, music, storytelling and interactive experiences that celebrate the people and communities who shaped conjunto cultures. Conjunto pioneer Bruno Villarreal’s accordion and a signed bajo sexto from Flaco Jiménez will be on display, alongside select items on loan from community partners and cultural organizations.
Building on more than 50 years of tradition, the ITC’s presentation of this exhibit continues its mission to explore and celebrate the many communities and traditions that shape Texas and keep its culture alive. The exhibition will run through May 30, 2027.

San Antonio will look to lean on its home-court advantage. The Spurs posted a 32-8 record at home during the regular season and enter Saturday as 5.5-point favorites despite trailing in the series.

The deadly shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. at the Classic Mart along Medical Drive near Fairhaven Street.
Investigators are still working to determine what led to the shooting and whether it stemmed from an argument or a possible robbery.
Police say the victim's family was watching the incident unfold in real time through the business's video surveillance system.
Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures for about 20 minutes, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect fled the location, and detectives are still working to identify and locate the person responsible.

Today will feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs climbing into the low to mid-90s. An isolated shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out late this afternoon, but most areas will stay dry.
Saturday starts with morning clouds and perhaps a brief sprinkle before skies become partly sunny. Another isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible later in the day.
Rain chances increase a bit on Sunday as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop during the afternoon and evening. Highs will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Bottom line: Keep the umbrella nearby, but don't cancel those outdoor plans. Most of the weekend will be dry, hot, and humid.
