The Euro Exhibition was officially opened on 25 January 2015 at the Peace Hall in Osnabrück, where the Peace of Wesphalia, which ended 30 years of war in Europe, was signed in 1648. The Exhibition was opened by Yves Mersch, Member of the Executive Board of the ECB, Carl-Ludwig Thiele, Member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Wolfgang Griesert, Mayor of Osnabrück and Frank Elderson, Executive Director of the Governing Board of De Nederlandsche Bank. The Exhibition will take place at the Kulturgeschichtliches Museum in Osnabrück until 3 May 2015 giving residents and visitors to Osnabrück a chance to take a closer look at the currency used by 338 million people in the euro area.
