Learn about artist and sculptor Trevor Hahn's incredible resilience, his unique no-welding metal sculptures, and how he found light and purpose through art after losing his sight.
What makes his work truly unique is his technique: Trevor does all his metal work without welding. Instead, he drills holes and fastens pieces together. He loves to rescue and upcycle things, transforming them into something beautiful.
Trevor's journey as an artist faced an immense challenge around 2014 when he suffered severe damage to his optic nerve, resulting in the loss of his sight. Describing it as the "worst possible thing", this event led him into depression.
As someone who was a visual artist before and had a commercial art job, he didn't know what to do. Returning to creating art, and making something useful out of nothing, provided a way forward.
