The report - seen exclusively by BBC Newsnight - is embarrassing for ministers, who had trumpeted previous data suggesting 98.9% of families in the scheme had been "turned around". We did ask the government for an interview but were turned down. Instead, Evan Davis was joined by Shaun Bailey, who was David Cameron's advisor on Youth and Crime in Downing Street from 2010-2013.

- The daughter of the late Labour MP and peer Lord Janner has called an upcoming inquiry into child abuse allegations against him "grotesque and Kafkaesque". Speaking to Evan Davis in her first interview on the subject, Marion Janner said it amounted to accusations against "a corpse". In December 2015, shortly before his death, Lord Janner was ruled unfit to stand trial because of dementia. The Goddard inquiry is due to hold public hearings into the allegations. Evan began by asking Marion if her father was of the allegations in the year before he died.
