However, her time of 11.41 seconds was deemed to have been assisted by a tailwind of 5.4m/s, well over the legal amount of 2.0m/s.
For the entire 2026 season, Nurse has been consistently running in the 11.5 region, improving her personal best to 11.53 seconds.

- Star in the distance events and no stranger to records, Alexandra School’s Ashlyn Simmonds on Thursday stamped her authority in the Under-20 Girls’ 1500m, registering a new BSSAC record of 4:40.66 and erasing 800m national record holder Sonia Gaskin’s old time of 4:46.73 which she ran in 2012 for Parkinson Memorial.
After her victory, Simmonds said, “ I told myself going into the race, run as hard as I can each lap, increase my pace on the last lap and come home as hard as possible. Simmonds added, “It's a normal feeling [breaking records] but knowing it is my last year of BSSAC and I can leave my mark is a great feeling.”
