- (11ALIVE) Gov. Brian Kemp extended the state of emergency for all 159 counties in Georgia after Tropical Storm Debby impacted the coast this week.
The state of emergency initially went into effect at 3 p.m. on Aug. 3 and will expire on Aug. 15 at 11:59 p.m., according to the order. The executive order will help with immediate resource assistance in the aftermath of the storm.
The state of emergency also said that county emergency management agencies and Georgia Emergency Management indicate there will be a need for assistance in impacted areas. It produced showers and storms over eastern Cuba and the Florida Keys in the afternoon of Aug. 3.
Debby then made landfall on Monday, Aug. 5, as a Category 1 hurricane near Steinhatchee, Florida, before it weakened to a tropical storm later that morning.

- (11ALIVE) The Georgia Court of Appeals on Wednesday denied a request that could have further delayed the Fulton County election interference case against former president Donald Trump.
It's been one full year since a Fulton County grand jury indicted the former president and eighteen others in a sprawling racketeering case, accusing them of unlawfully interfering in Georgia's 2020 presidential election proceedings.
The case's forward momentum stalled this year after a romantic relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she chose to help lead the case, tied the case up in a pre-trial appeal.

The Georgia Court of Appeals scheduled oral arguments on the matter for December but last month, the former president's lead attorney asked the Court to reschedule to January 2025.

Tropical Storm warnings are still in place for portions of the Leeward Islands. The National Hurricane Center states they expect to issue Hurricane watches for Bermuda in the coming hours.
Current models project the storm to make a northward shift after moving through Puerto Rico, due to an extended area of high pressure being moved to the east.

Is it haunted? Not that we’ve heard. According to Historic Macon Foundation, the tower opened for the Central Of Georgia Railroad in 1910 to service the huge roundhouse, railyard, and car shops on the property.
The foundation placed the property on its “Fading Five” list of endangered historic properties in 2018. There are now plans to turn the property into a golf complex featuring a driving range and putting course, while preserving the historic landmark on the property.
