- Roughly four in 10 workers making more than $300,000 a year say they're living paycheck to paycheck, according to a new Goldman Sachs survey. Yahoo Finance's Kerry Hannon tells Yahoo Finance Host Josh Lipton why lifestyle creep is squeezing high earners, why some are making only minimum credit card payments, and what else the annual survey found: fewer workers boosting retirement contributions, more people taking on side hustles to keep up with rising costs, the payoff of working with a financial advisor, and why retirement savers turning more conservative could be risky.

Phelan says AI has not yet shown up as a job killer in the data, explains why he doesn't think the AI investment boom is inflationary, and repeats his view that the Federal Reserve's September rate hike was a mistake, pushing back on Bill Ackman's argument that higher rates won't slow AI demand.

The SEC proposed a framework this week that would let registered investment advisers and regulated funds hold crypto directly, not only through ETFs. State trust companies could serve as custodians, and advisers could hold assets themselves in narrow cases with documented controls and an independent examination.
Scott Melker thinks this is the real market structure bill. His argument is that the regulators are quietly delivering most of what the Clarity Act promised. He also picks apart a jobs report that missed badly and the revisions that erased 60,000 jobs nobody was watching.

The ten-year Treasury yield rose 87 basis points over the September quarter, the sharpest quarterly jump since 1994, and long-dated Treasuries lost about 7.7%. Bitcoin gained 42.7% over the same three months, its strongest quarter since late 2024. Textbook macro says those two things cannot both happen.

$34 billion of that figure is equity owed back to early investors rather than money spent. The real operating loss is $8.06 billion on about $4.6 billion of 2025 revenue. - Even fire trucks are an AI play now.
Kenny Polcari opens on the AI trade and gets an answer that keeps widening. Kevin Kelly, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kelly Intelligence, argues AI has stopped being a sector and turned into an attribute of almost everything, right down to the company building municipal fire trucks. Melissa Otto, CFA, Head of TMT Research at Visible Alpha, part of S&P Global Market Intelligence, brings the estimate data behind it and puts a number on what data centers will pull from the power grid. Then the host and the analyst disagree, on air, about whether cash is safe.

- Not one big institution sold Bitcoin during the crash.
Bitwise asked fifteen senior investors at endowments, pensions, sovereign wealth funds and family offices what they did during an eleven-month bear market that cut Bitcoin in half. None of them cut their allocation. Several bought more. All fifteen held Bitcoin, most of them at 1% to 2% of assets.
Scott Melker also picks apart the inflation print everyone cheered. The Bureau of Economic Analysis changed how it measures software, portfolio management fees and legal services, and economists reckon that alone put core inflation 0.2 points lower. He closes on why AI agents will end up spending money on blockchain rails.

- AI's next big bottleneck isn't chips or capital. It's electricians, welders, and plumbers, with the US needing 1.7 million skilled trades workers a year through 2035.
Training programs are only producing 55 workers for every 100 needed, proving the AI boom runs on more than just code.
"That's terrible," Brian Sozzi says.
