- Description
- As rents and housing prices skyrocket, tiny houses have become exceedingly popular over the past few years.
According to Business Insider, buying a tiny home demands a number of critical decisions by the prospective homeowner.
Most importantly: where are you going to put it? Zoning laws vary enormously, and getting permission to erect one can be difficult.
Second, why do you want a tiny home? To save money? To be mobile? To make less of an environmental impact?
The answers to those questions will have an enormous influence on your ultimate choice.
Finally, what is your budget? The more work you do yourself, the less your home can cost. Happy hunting!

Cuomo eventually locked down the state of New York on March 22, but the delay is likely a contributing factor as to why the state has become the US epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak.

According to Gizmodo Earther, black people make up only 33% of Louisiana’s population. However, they make up 56% of the state’s COVID-19 deaths.
Data shows communities of color across the US are being hit by the pandemic at a higher rate than predominantly white communities.
Many essential workers on the frontline are non-white and can’t work from home. This puts them at a disproportionate risk of exposure.

“We believe that there will be battleground states that have never been battleground states before,” said Biden’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, in an optimistic strategy briefing for reporters on Friday.
O’Malley Dillon included Arizona, Texas and Georgia among states that have been traditionally Republican states.
O'Malley Dillion thinks those states could fuel a historic Biden victory on election day.

- On Thursday, the Senate took up a key bill to reauthorize domestic surveillance programs while making changes to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
One of the amendments would have required authorities to obtain a warrant to access internet users’ search histories and browsing information.
The amendment failed with 59 yeas to 37 nays.
The bill was one vote short of the 60-vote threshold it needed to overcome the filibuster.
Bernie Sanders was conspicuously absent and did not vote.
Now, many of his staunchest supporters are wondering where he was.
Slate asked Sanders spokesman where the senator was at the time of the vote and why he did not do the job he was elected to do.
A Sanders spokesman has not responded to Slate's request for comment about the senator’s whereabouts.

Sanders group, Our Revolution, say it lacks access to his new email list that made him the best Democratic fundraiser this year.

- According to Gizmodo new studies suggest that summer heat and humidity won't stop the spread of coronavirus.
With weather warming up in the Western hemisphere, experts say that people should continue to social distance through the heat.
Peter Jüni, a clinical epidemiologist at the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto said “The message is simple: Summer won’t help us to resolve this problem.”
A Canadian Medical Association Journal study found that differences in temperature and humidity had little bearing on the coronavirus’ progression, rejecting preliminary research that said otherwise.
Jüni said that the new study is much more rigorous.
MIT’s Sloan School of Management and China conducted similar studies that align with The Canadian Medical Journal's findings— heat won't stop the spread of COVID-19.

Instead, the Nordic country asked its citizens to voluntarily maintain social distance.
According to Business Insider, Sweden has a relatively high per-capita death toll and case count compared to other countries.
That's an indicator the strategy might not be working, which came as a surprise to Swedish epidemiologists.
Last week, the head of Sweden's coronavirus response said in an interview on "The Daily Show" that the country's high death toll was unexpected.
We calculated on more people being sick, but the death toll really came as a surprise to us. Anders Tegnell, Epidemiologist Head of Sweden's coronavirus response
