- On the morning of March 19, Osama Abu Nassar was carrying his one-and-a-half-year-old son, Jawad, and heading east from his home in the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Israeli occupation forces opened fire on him, and an Israeli quadcopter drone circled around him. According to his wife, Waad al-Shafi’i, the soldiers ordered him via loudspeaker to put his child down and continue walking toward a gathering of occupation forces.
About 12 hours later, the family received a call from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) informing them that they needed to come and collect their son, Jawad. His mother, Waad, and grandfather, Muhammad, rushed to the scene and received the child from ICRC representatives at the Maghazi camp market around 10:00 PM.
The child was "shriveled up" and wrapped in a medical blanket (cellophane), and his mother hadn't seen his body.
