- Undercover Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian and seized a man suspected of stabbing and wounding an Israeli in a hospital in Hebron.
Closed circuit footage from the al-Ahli hospital in Hebron shows the group, one masquerading as a pregnant woman pulling guns on hospital staff.
Later the men, part of the undercover unit known as Duvedan are seen hustling their captive out of the hospital in a wheelchair.
Behind them lying dead in the hospital room from where Azzam Shalaldeh was taken was his cousin Abdallah.
The facts around the killing are disputed. Israel’s Shin Bet security agency claim the victim attacked the Israeli forces. Azzam Shalaldeh’s brother who was in the room said his cousin was shot without warning when he emerged from the bathroom.

- In the wake of last week’s Metrojet crash in Sinai, the Russian carrier is reportedly grounding its A321 aircraft while additional checks are carried out.
The Russian Federal Transport Agency announced the decision, which will affect four aircraft in the Metrojet fleet.
In the meantime, Russia continues to operate flights to and from Sharm el-Sheikh. The UK has changed its travel advice to urge against all but essential travel by air to the Egyptian resort.
Flights between Sharm and the UK and Ireland have been suspended, stranding at least 20,000 passengers.
The decision to ground flights followed a statement by the British government concluding “there is a significant possibility the crash was caused by an explosive device on board the aircraft.”

- There is growing evidence that a bomb was the likely cause of last week’s Russian airliner crash in Sinai which killed 224 people.
Although not mentioning any group, Britain’s Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond cited the possibility after a meeting of the UK government’s emergency Cobra committee.
“We have concluded that there is a significant possibility that the crash was caused by an explosive device on board the aircraft.”
Both US and UK intelligence sources point to the Islamist militant group ISIL or affiliated extremists who may have planted the bomb before the plane took off from Sharm el-Sheikh airport on route for St Petersburg.
Sinai Province – a group linked to ISIL claims to have brought down the plane “in response to Russian air strikes that killed hundreds of Muslims on Syrian land.”

- US intelligence points to a bomb planted by the so-called Islamic State or an affiliate bringing down the Russian passenger plane that crashed over Egypt, according to an unnamed official quoted in American media reports.

Dogan news agency reports dawn raids were carried out on known addresses of followers of the US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen.
Last week, Turkish authorities took over management of newspapers, television stations and other businesses linked to Gulen.
At least 58 journalists have since been fired and trustees assigned to manage Gulen’s Ipek media group.
Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan rejected comments against the operations, claiming justice was fighting against the media’s “violations of the law.”

- European observers have criticised Turkey’s election campaign which has seen President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s AK party returned to power with a parliamentary majority.
Members of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) claimed on Monday (Nov 2) that violence had prevented some campaigning. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) went even further denouncing the process as “unfair”.
Andreas Gross, Head of the PACE delegation told journalists:
“Unfortunately, we come to the conclusion that this campaign was unfair and it was characterised by too much violence, by too much fear. And fear is enemy of democracy, enemy of free choice.”

- The first of the 224 victims from the Sinai plane crash have been flown home to St Petersburg. The remains of around 144 passengers are said to have been repatriated. Not all of them have as yet been identified.
So far the Egyptian authorities have recovered 187 bodies from the crash site and its environs.
It was on Saturday that the aircraft came down shortly after leaving the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. Most of those on board were Russian.
