- Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Councillor Tahir Hussain has been sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday in the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 North East Delhi riots.
Judge Praveen Singh of the Karkardooma Court refused the Delhi Police’s plea to sentence Hussain and 4 others to death. On July 13, 2026, the court pronounced the verdict convicting Mohd. Tahir Hussain, Javed, Anas, Nazim and Kasim for kidnapping with intent to confine and murder of IB official Ankit Sharma.

- The tragedy in Karur District occurred when a massive crowd crush and stampede broke out during a political rally hosted by then actor Vijay of the TVK on September 27, 2025. There were 41 fatalities and 100 injured.
After forming the government, the TVK government issued an order on July 6, 2026, granting appointments to 32 named individuals from the victims’ families. On his first visit as the CM, Vijay, dressed in all black, broke down while personally handing over government appointment orders to 32 members of the victims’ families.
However, the Madras High Court quashed these appointments.

- Strawberries were never supposed to grow in Rajasthan, but a few farmers have now proved otherwise.
Amongst them is Narayan Singh Rao, who had spent 7-8 years working at a bank before quitting to try farming. His first attempt was growing chillies which wiped out nearly Rs. 8 lakh in savings. Instead of giving up, he researched strawberry cultivation across Himachal Pradesh and Mahabaleshwar, matched the climate to a spot back home, and today runs a 4-acre strawberry farm employing close to a hundred workers during peak season. His farm has now become an agri-tourism stop, with resorts nearby marketing themselves around strawberry season — and he's teaching village residents, most of whom had never even seen a strawberry, how to grow the crop themselves.
