The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said in his US speech that countries imposing unjust blockade on Qatar are seeking to “destabilise a sovereign state.”
The accusation by siege countries that Qatar funds terrorism is such a paradox. One has to only look at the nationality of the 9/11 attackers, Al Qaeda and Daesh leaders to understand the double standards. The US probe report on 9/11 doesn’t mention any Qatari while the other siege countries are mentioned multiple times.
Last few weeks, a planned digital attack was seen on social media using phantom addresses and hackers to create wrong perception among communities in siege countries. Many of the trending hashtags in these countries were thus manipulated to disseminate false and fake news about Qatar.
When faced with extreme measures such as closure of the only land border, blockade on airspace, prevention of Qatari ships in the territorial waters of three countries, Qatar govt found navigational alternatives to import goods and ensure normalcy in the country.
Qatar supports rebuilding of Gaza Strip and also Palestinian National Unity government. Presence of Hamas in Doha was and still is for the Palestinian national reconciliation.
