- Iran and Oman reached an understanding on a temporary shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, clearing a major hurdle to reopening the critical waterway, but Tehran says implementation depends on the United States meeting a series of demands.
The proposal would create two-way shipping lanes through the waterway, including a route for vessels entering the Persian Gulf that runs entirely through Iranian waters, according to Iran’s defense-linked Defa Press outlet. Part of the outbound route would also pass through Iranian waters.

- Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico asked a Texas court on Wednesday to unseal two depositions given by his Republican opponent, Ken Paxton, arguing the testimony could raise questions about the attorney general’s conduct.
Talarico’s campaign filed a petition in Collin County seeking the release of depositions Paxton gave in 2019 and 2022 in connection with a civil dispute involving Unity Resources, an energy company for which Paxton previously served as an attorney and board member, and in which he invested. The Democrat’s campaign claims in the petition that Paxton’s depositions raise “substantial ethical questions,” according to the complaint.

Officials said a Chinese company linked to the Beijing government hacked into multiple federal agencies, including the Federal Reserve, National Institutes of Health, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the Departments of Justice, Energy, and Health and Human Services. The DOJ and FBI seized two domains, QScan and QTRouter, after investigators determined QTFY, or the Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company, was using those systems to hack into the Senate, U.S. government agencies, and sensitive networks nationwide, according to officials.
