The Justice Department worked to protect the civil rights of everyone in our country, to combat discrimination, to defend federally-protected reproductive rights, and to aggressively prosecute hate crimes.
And the Justice Department has fulfilled its responsibility to uphold the rule of law and to ensure the equal protection of law that is the foundation of our democracy.

The operation was the result of coordination between the Justice Department and Guatemalan authorities and marks the third anniversary of the tragic event.

- Six computer hackers, all of whom were residents and nationals of the Russian Federation (Russia), were charged in an indictment with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion and wire fraud conspiracy. Five of the defendants were officers in Unit 29155 of the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU), a military intelligence agency of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The sixth individual was a civilian already under indictment for conspiracy to commit computer intrusion and is now also charged with wire fraud conspiracy. The defendants are alleged to have committed cyber attacks in advance of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and also targeted 26 NATO countries.

The charges relate to the defendants’ central roles in planning, supporting, and perpetrating the terrorist atrocities that Hamas committed in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 (the October 7 Hamas Massacres), involving the murders and kidnappings of countless innocent civilians, including American citizens, which was the culmination of Hamas’s decades-long campaign of terrorism and violence against Israel and its allies, including American citizens. The defendants remain at large.
Defendants are senior leaders of Hamas responsible for planning, supporting, and perpetrating Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attacks in Israel resulting in the brutal murders of more than a thousand innocent civilians, including over 40 American ctizens.

- The Justice Department filed a civil antitrust lawsuit against RealPage Inc. for its unlawful scheme to decrease competition among landlords in apartment pricing and to monopolize the market for commercial revenue management software that landlords use to price apartments. RealPage’s alleged conduct deprives renters of the benefits of competition on apartment leasing terms and harms millions of Americans. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, Acting Associate Attorney General Benjamin C. Mizer, and Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter of the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division held a press conference to make the announcement.
