- Gov. Nixon announced that Italian manufacturer Piva Group will open its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Ste. Genevieve. The global manufacturer of vinyl windows, doors, panels and other construction products is expected to create 122 new jobs over time at its new facility. The Governor announced the new jobs in St. Louis at a meeting of the Hawthorn Foundation, a private non-profit organization that partners with the state on economic development.

At City Hall, on May 22, 2015, the governor awarded $2-million in community block grant funding to the City of Duquesne. the funds will pay for major road repairs, needed due to damage from storm recovery and rebuilding operations in the months and years following one of the deadliest tornadoes in American history.

Orgill will expand their facility in Southeast Missouri to more than 1-million square feet, and will grow their workforce on-site to 350 employees.
Orgill is the world's largest independently owned hardware distributor and employs more than 2,000 people worldwide. Their Sikeston facility will soon house their second-largest workforce after completion of the $10.2-million expansion.

The latest employment report reflects nearly 2,000 new jobs since the beginning of the year, and the March general revenue report shows an increase in net general revenue collections to 6.8%.

The deal would enable organized, skilled tradesmen to work around the clock to complete construction on the north riverfront stadium under-budget, and in record time.
The stadium project would employ as many as 1500 workers on the stadium itself, and lead the way for major revitalization of a blighted portion of St. Louis City.
