- Tafuna Warriors Defense, led by Sophomore Middle Linebacker, "Ueseli Mamea (#6) stops Leone's Folasa Vili, and drives him back after the play with a help of fellow defensive lineman in the second half of their JV Game.
Samoa News notes that Ueseli Mamea played football in the AYFS league, he played 1 year helping out the Bengals in their undefeated Championship title, then moved onto lead the Raiders to an undefeated Championship season as an 8th grader, where he was named the AYFS 2012 Defensive Player of the Year. Mamea was also selected as an All Star player for the AYFS All Star team who flew to Hawaii last year to compete in three All Star matches.
He played last year for the Crusaders, and was Marist leading scorer and Marist leading tackler in the JV division as a Freshman. This year he leads Tafuna's defensive unit.

- Leone Lions JV Team was on a roll, as right after their touchdown conversion in the second half, their kick off to the Warriors saw Tafuna having a hard time trying to take possession of it, as the Lions stormed in and recovered another first down situation for Leone, which led to another touchdown conversion for Leone.
Samoa News notes that Leone recovered two kick-offs intended for the Warriors Return Team.

- Leone Lions JV Quarterback Aleipata Fereti sends out a perfect pass to the hands of Freshman running back "#12 Masan Tuileta" who caught it and turned it up field for another Leone touchdown in their match up against the Warriors last Saturday morning that concluded in favor of Leone.
Samoa News notes that Leone's Masan Tuileta is a Freshman, and has been playing football for quite a while now.. He played on the AYFS Bengals for 2 years (1 of those years he helped the Bengals to an undefeated Championship season), then as an 8th grader, Tuileta was already playing for Marist's JV squad, and he also led the AYFS Chiefs to an undefeated Championship title, where he was the MVP of the Season.
Tuileta was also selected to the AYFS All Stars who went to Hawaii to face 2 of Hawai'i best youth teams, which also took place this year.

- Samoa News would like to congratulate Tafuna Warriors "Varsity Defense" for taking the Samoa News PLAY OF THE WEEK for ASHSAA Football WEEK No.4, with "Safety (#7) Taupule Asotau's 2nd Interception of the game, and he took this one all the way back for a 63 yard defensive touchdown.
Asotau was ejected during their first game against Leone, so he missed out on their game against the Vikings two weeks ago. He came back last Saturday to record numerous tackles, and 2 interception, but this one back to the house for a TD for THS.
