Pajunen began playing violin at a young age, blending classical training with Finnish folk traditions. She went on to build a professional career performing and composing, including collaborations in the Finnish-American duo Kaivama and with Finnish accordionist Teija Niku.
In recent years, a late-stage cancer diagnosis has profoundly influenced Pajunen’s approach to creativity, performance and daily life.

Inside was a prototype version of the famous Norwegian footwear called “Nesna Lobbens.” These boots are still beloved by winter sports enthusiasts and polar explorers around the world. In “From Nesna with Love,” Dana brings her ancestor’s Lobbens back to Nesna to learn more about where they came from, and why they are no longer made in this quirky small town north of the Arctic circle.
What began as a search for the history of a single pair of boots becomes a heartfelt exploration of heritage, craftsmanship, and the enduring connection between Norway and the American Midwest.
