Journalist Jeremy Scahill, co-founder of Drop Site News, has highlighted how Israel uses bogus ceasefire agreements as cover while it continues to slaughter civilians on a near-daily basis.
It’s something Iran’s government is all too aware of as it deals with the US and Israel, he told Sky News.
In the early hours of Thursday morning local time, Israel bombed residential buildings in Gaza City, killing at least nine as an entire sleeping family of five was burned to death, Drop Site reported.
There have been numerous cases of Israel burning civilians to death. In December last year a family of three, including two children, burned to death in their tent in the al-Mawasi displacement camp in southern Gaza.

- Rioting broke out on Tuesday night as hundreds gathered outside Southampton police station to protest the murder of Henry Nowak, who died in police custody in December.
The crowd outside the police station was addressed by far-right figures who claimed institutional racism against white people from the police was to blame for the death of Nowak, who was studying accounting at the University of Southampton. Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, told the crowd: “If Henry wasn’t white, he wouldn’t have been handcuffed.”
Footage shows protesters throwing traffic cones, bins and stones at police officers wearing riot gear. One officer narrowly avoided being hit by an e-scooter which had been thrown from a height, according to one report. Protesters carried signs bearing the name Henry Nowak.
Hampshire police said that 11 officers had been hurt in the rioting. Two arrests have been made with more to follow, police said.

On Novara Live, investigative journalist Paul Holden dismisses far-right claims that the death of Henry Nowak in police custody is evidence of a “two-tier” culture in which white people’s rights are less important than those of ethnic minorities.
Bodycam footage shows how, on the night of his death, police ignored and dismissed Nowak repeatedly telling them he had been stabbed. His killer, Vickrum Digwa, had lied to the police, saying that Nowak racially abused him.
“As a single data point, it doesn’t bear out broader, deeper analysis” that “white people are under the thumb” of diversity policies, Holden said.

All that is to say: AI is here to stay. And what will be its fruits? Greater control of workers or even their brutal repression, some say.
So, is there a positive future for AI at all?
Garrison Lovely is the author of *Obsolete: The AI Industry’s Trillion-Dollar Race to Replace You—and How to Stop It.* And surprisingly, his answer is “yes”. He tells Richard Hames how to get off the path to dystopia.

- A drone technology factory in Kent was blockaded by over 100 activists this morning, shutting down all operations for a second time.
Instro Precision, a subsidiary of Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems, was blocked by activist group Arms Embargo from Below.
The action comes just weeks after the UK government granted two new licences for the export of military equipment to Gaza earlier this month, including one worth £8.7m.
“The UK government has increased its arms trade with Israel throughout its mass murder of civilians,” said a spokesperson for the group. “We stand against genocide and ethnic cleansing, and are here to protect human life.”
