Four astronauts recently launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to embark on a mission around the Moon. But liftoff was just the beginning.
The four astronauts aboard the mission — NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen—have spent their first day in space becoming acquainted with the Orion spacecraft. They set up important life support systems, communicated with Mission Control in Houston, and practiced manually piloting the vehicle.
What’s next? The “translunar injection” burn that commits them on the path of their lunar flyby.

- Watch a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft undock and depart from the International Space Station. The spacecraft is scheduled to autonomously undock at 12:05 p.m. EST (1705 UTC) on Thursday, Feb. 26, and splash down off the coast of California at 2:44 a.m. EST (0744 UTC) on Friday, Feb. 27.
This Dragon spacecraft arrived at the space station as part of our SpaceX 33rd Commercial Resupply Services (CRS-33) mission. It arrived carrying science and supplies for the crew aboard the orbiting lab, and will return to Earth with scientific data from experiments in low Earth orbit, including tests determining how materials age in space and how microgravity affects brain and heart stem cell growth.

- Engineers at NASA's Kennedy Space Center are conducting a prelaunch test to fuel the Artemis II Space Launch System—a vital step in ensuring this rocket is ready for its upcoming trip around the Moon.
During the rehearsal, teams will demonstrate the ability to load more than 700,000 gallons of cryogenic propellants into the rocket, conduct a launch countdown, and practice safely removing propellant from the rocket without astronauts inside the spacecraft. This is the second "wet dress rehearsal" test, following a previous rehearsal on Feb. 2.
Teams are counting down to the opening of a simulated launch window at 8:30 p.m. EST on Feb. 19 (0130 Feb. 20 UTC), which could extend to up to four hours.
