Law Enforcement Division.

The clean-up day is part of the club’s community outreach program with the Waccamaw Riverkeepers. The Coastal 4-H has adopted the Sandy Island Boat Landing to keep it clean. Black Water donated the use of the kayaks for the day.

He and and Jonathan Vanderhorst are charged with the murder, armed robbery, first-degree assault and batter and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The charges stem from the shooting death of Edy Boudagh at the Loris Market & Beverages on Monday. Bond was denied on all the charges except murder since a magistrate judge cannot set bond for murder. The murder charges must be heard before a circuit court judge in general sessions court.

- What began as a lesson so children could see how enormous 1.5 million is, Ellie Schiller reached out from the Chabad of Myrtle Beach to the world asking for small paper butterflies to represent each child that died in the Holocaust. The1998 butterfly project, inspired from “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” poem, came full circle on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Hundreds attended the unveiling and dedication of the Butterfly Memorial Monument on Holocaust Remembrance Day near Crabtree Gymnasium in The Market Common section of Myrtle Beach. Schiller’s husband Hugo, an Holocaust survivor, helped his wife with the project. School children from around the world sent in crayon-colored butterflies that were displayed at the Chabad off Oak Street in 1998. The Butterfly Memorial Monument is a permanent structure to honor those who died in the Holocaust.

The gates open at 3:30 p.m. with activities such as watching batting practice and meeting Pelicans players. There will be an athletes parade at 6:15 p.m. and first pitches before the Pelicans take on the Carolina Mudcats. The night is topped off with fireworks and a chance to run the bases after the game.
