The magnificent stadium has been closed since 2004 and many world class facilities inside left unattended ever since, but the stakeholders have been crying foul play.

In a vox pop conducted by our correspondents in Umuahia, the state capital, the people noted categorically that Abia remains the poorest state in the country.
They also blamed the state goverment for the poor state of infrastructures in the state, noting that there are limited employment opportunities in the state, hence the agitations by youths in the region.
