It’s the might and warfighting of the US Navy, alongside highly-skilled partners from Australia, Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and New Zealand.
The total size of Pacific Vanguard force is about 1,500 servicepeople, aboard world-class vessels on the high seas, beneath the waves, and in the air.

- For their historic bronze medal-winning performance in the Oceania Championships on home soil and a familiar court, the Guam Women’s National Volleyball Team was honored by senators Vince Borja and Jesse Lujan at the Guam Congress Building. The strong showing by an all-star roster with firepower, speed and grit at every position, qualified us for next year’s Pacific Games in Tahiti, and moved our program’s up to 70th in the world and 12th in Asia.
People will be talking about this squad for decades. It’s a group of ladies and their coaches who lived up to the hype, became a true team, and whose medal-winning performance and hospitality the entire week will live forever.

- Twin brothers Brandon and Landon Aydlett have made a name for themselves with their Tower for Humanity project, recreating famous structures with Lincoln Logs with a very Guamanian twist - giving the community the chance to join in and help. And with this year being the 25th anniverary of 9/11, the boys – and their army of builder volunteers - are recreating the Twin Towers, each standing 25’ feet high in the Micronesia Mall’s center court.
You can see their work evolve from now until September 11 and participate by purchasing a log and decorating it, or donate canned goods to help BeHeartfelt feed and clothe kids in need.
It’s an ambitious project by some proud island boys, so join their mission.

- Congratulations to the five high school seniors named to Team Guam for the 2026 Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal! We’ll be competing against top competitors from different backgrounds, and our athletes all cherish the opportunity to share the Hafa Adai spirit with the world.
Our group is made up of swimmer Ocean Campus (St. John’s), Erica Cassidy (Harvest) and Alessandra Leon Guerrero (Academy of Our Lady of Guam) in the sand in beach volleyball, and shot putter Lana Quinata (Southern) and Alonzo Acosta (hammer throw) for athletics.
Our team departs for the Opening Ceremonies this October, so there’s more time to train, fine-tune and lock-in. Go Team Guam!

And on a sunny Sunday afternoon when most kids would be working on projects or kicking back, the Simon Sanchez High School community gathered in Tamuning, what’s been their adopted village, 8.5 miles from their natural Yigo home, collectively raised signs and voices to rebuild their campus.
