- It's time to "spring forward" this weekend, with most U.S. states setting their clocks one hour ahead for Daylight Saving Time (DST).
The change will come at 2 a.m. on Sunday across the nation -- excluding Hawaii and a majority of Arizona, as those states don't observe DST.
DST is the practice of moving clocks forward by one hour during the warmer months so evenings have more daylight and mornings have less. It runs from March to November, which is opposed to Standard Time (ST), which involves setting clocks back an hour from November to March to align with the sun's natural cycle.
Some people, including politicians, think it's time to eliminate the twice-yearly clock changes.
