- An Israeli Navy officer requests that the captain and crew of the "Victoria" cargo carrier stop the ship in order for the Israeli Navy to board. The Navy discovered various weaponry on-board the ship which departed from Syria and was estimated to transfer the weaponry to terror organizations in the Gaza Strip.

The crew complied with the request and IDF soldiers boarded the ship without incident. The ship is currently headed toward the Israeli port of Ashdod where its arms will be further examined.

- A short while ago, the Israeli Navy intercepted the cargo vessel "Victoria" loaded with various weaponry. According to assessments, the weaponry on-board the vessel was intended for the use of terror organizations operating in the Gaza Strip. The vessel, flying under a Liberian flag, was intercepted some 200 miles west of Israel's coast. This incident was part of the Navy's routine activity to maintain security and prevent arms smuggling, in light of IDF security assessments.
The ship's crew complied with the Navy's request, and was boarded without incident. The "Victoria" is now sailing towards the Ashdod Port in Israel where its contents will be examined.

- Last evening, a terrorist entered a private home in Itamar and brutally murdered five people--3 children and two parents. The result was fatal and the IDF has begun in a military operation to try and catch the perpetrators.
The entire incident is under investigation at the moment. We understand that there were a number of perpetrators and this is the direction of the investigation.

- During a violent riot today in Bil'in, rioters continued to hurl rocks at security forces and damage the security fence. Approximately 70 participated. In addition, another violent riot occurred simultaneously in Hebron in which four Border Policemen were injured and one Border Policewoman was lightly injured after being assaulted by a female rioter. The rioter was subsequently arrested.
Protesters are free to partake in non-violent demonstrations and express their opinions as they wish. However when violence is used against people and property, security forces respond with riot dispersal means. Last year alone, 47 IDF soldiers and Border Policemen were injured by rock hurling during these protests, many requiring hospital treatment. February 25, 2011

- The following video filmed today shows violent rioters in the West Bank town of Bil'in. After rioters caused damage to the security fence and hurled rocks at security forces, the security forces responded with dispersal means intended to disperse the violent gathering. Approximately 300 rioters gathered in Bil'in today. One Border Policeman was lightly injured by rocks hurled at him, and he was taken to the hospital to receive medical care.

- In a live interoperability drill in southern Israel, IDF infantry, artillery, tank and air forces simulated taking control of an enemy village.
As part of the event, following the demonstration, an honorary guard was held for Lt. Gen. Ashkenazi. Upon conclusion of the visit, soldiers and commanders of the Ground Forces Command bid farewell to the chief of the General Staff by exhibiting a special exercise, combining all aspects of the ground forces.
The Chief of the General staff and the Commander of the Ground Forces spoke at the end of the demonstration. The IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, remarked, "There is relative calm along the borders, but the reality may change. It's enough to look at what is happening in Egypt to realize this."

- The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, bids farewell to the Golani Brigade, where he served as a young soldier. The visit was held during his farewell rounds to all branches and units in the IDF, before leaving his position in February.
During the visit, which was held at the brigade's training base, key figures from Lt. Gen. Ashkenazi's days as a soldier took the stage, among them: the Brigade Commander from the time during which the Chief of Staff was the brigade's Operations Officer, and his personal assistant from his time as Brigade Commander.

- Yesterday, a Palestinian man who arrived at the Bekaot crossing in a taxi began running towards an IDF force present at the scene, while yelling "Allahu Akbar" and holding a suspicious object. The rest of the men who were in the taxi fled the scene.
The force called on the man to halt, and when he did not comply, the force began a complete arrest procedure, eventually firing at the suspect. The man was injured and sappers who arrived at the scene discovered that he was holding a pipe bomb, an additional explosive device and a knife. Medical teams who arrived at the scene determined the man's death.

- Scenes from the riot in the village of Bil'in on January 7th 2011.
Every Friday, demonstrators riot near the village of Bil'in protesting the path of the security fence. The Israeli High Court ruled that the course of the fence should be altered, and currently work is underway for the new fence. When the new security fence is completed, the one adjacent to Bil'in will be removed. Despite this, the demonstrators continue to riot, using violence, throwing rocks and sometimes firebombs. Over the past several years over 200 Israeli security personnel have been injured at these riots.
In the video Brig. Gen. Nitzan Alon, the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, discusses protocol for handling the riots, followed by rioters marching and hurling rocks towards security forces.

Eden and two IAF pilots joined the Evergreen crew in order to assist them in directing their efforts to extinguish the fires near the area of Ein-Hod. The plane is carrying 21,000 gallons of water and flame retardant chemicals. - The IDF in coordination with the Civil Administration and the Israeli Police have prepared for the annual olive harvest in the West Bank region. The harvest began in early October and is expected to last through December.
Seen here are soldiers from the "Kfir" Brigade guarding the Palestinians during near the Itamar Community. The soldiers are there to maintain order and ensure the Palestinians have a safe and successful harvest.
As part of the preparations, Civil Administration officials met with their Palestinian counterparts, representatives from various villages in the region, and Palestinian olive oil manufacturers in order to coordinate the schedule for this harvest. - On September 28, 2010, the Irene, a small boat with several passangers headed to Gaza were peacefully intercepted by the Israel Navy and rerouted to Ashdod Port. Israel has implemented a maritime closure on the waters off of Gaza, which is currently under the control of the terrorist organization Hamas. Ships that attempt to enter the waters off of Gaza are in violation of the maritime closure and are intercepted by the Israel navy.

- 3 September 2010: Video footage of the aftermath of the explosion today in Al-Shahabiya, a village in southern Lebanon, shows smoke rising from a building. Hezbollah controls this area of Lebanon and the building where the explosion occurred was used as a Hezbollah weapons storage facility.
Today's incident is only one of many that clearly show that Hezbollah systematically violates United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which stipulates that Hezbollah should be disarmed and that no paramilitary groups will be active south of the Litani river.

- As a result of the stable security situation in the area and with the assessment of the IDF Central Command and other relevant officials, the Israeli Police has begun to dismantle a protective concrete structure built adjacent to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo, and the Palestinian town of Beit Jala.
The structure was originally erected eight years ago during the Second Intifada to protect Gilo residents from sniper fire and shells that were being fired from Beit Jala. Its dismantling will take approximately two weeks.

- A number of Yasur (CH-53) helicopters departed from the Romanian crash site to return back to Israel with some of the IDF search team members. The delegation will leave over the course of the next couple of days in a gradual manner.
In addition, a Hercules transport plane left Romania to carry remaining equpment left at the scene and refuel the Yasur helicopters on their way back to Israel.
An IAF Boeing airplane has departed Israel for an air force base in Romania in order to return the coffins of the IAF crew who were killed in the helicopter crash.

An IAF 'Yasur' (CH-53) helicopter crashed yesterday during an exercise flight in Romania. On board the helicopter were seven personnel- four pilots, two aerial mechanics and a Romanian Air Force member.
Approximately 80 IDF delegates were sent to Romania to assist in search and rescue efforts. The delegation includes representatives from the IAF, Oketz Canine Unit, Search and Rescue Unit, Rabbinal Corps, Medical Corps, Spokesperson's Unit.
The IDF delivered an announcement today declaring the passengers of the helicopter to be deceased and forces are currently working to identify the bodies at the site.

Two of the injured soldiers jump off the ship so that they can be picked up by the IDF boats. The third injured soldier is on the bow of the boat and slipping out of consciousness. IDF soldiers remaining on the boat come to his aid.
At 5:17 AM the situation is evaluated and some of the findings: live fire was used by demonstrators towards IDF soldiers who were on the ship, including one soldier who descended down the rope and was shot in the abdomen. Live fire by the demonstrators was also aimed at the soldiers on the small Israeli Navy boats next to the Marmara. The first occurence of live fire was that used by the demonstrators. In addition, a gun with emptied magazines was found in the hull of the ship.
IDF forces had boarded the other ships without incident. Treatment and evacuation was carried out for the injured soldiers and demonstrators alike. 38 injured were airlifted, 7 of them soldiers.

The soldiers arrived at the Mavi Marmara at 4:28 AM, but could not board the ship due to metal objects being thrown at them, and electric buzz saws used by the demonstrators to slice the ladders IDF soldiers needed to board the Marmara. After an unsuccessful attempt to board the ship by smaller boats, a helicopter arrived at 4:30 AM with 15 IDF soldiers.
