Today the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) completed the installation of a sturdier border fence along the Israel-Syria border--an attempt to prevent future illegal infiltrations into Israeli territory and uphold the security of Israel's northern residents.

In May 2011, Palestinian rioters from Syria illegally crossed into Israel, violating Israeli sovereignty. Infiltrators from Syria attempted to break through the border fence on two occasions, but only succeeded the first time.

Description: On July 23rd, the IDF and Israel Police thwarted an attempt by two Palestinians to smuggle weapons from Jordan to the Judea and Samaria Region. A rubber-inflated boat carrying ten AK-47s, ten magazines and approximately 300 matching bullets along with the Palestinian suspects, was apprehended by the IDF and Police in the Dead Sea.

The two Palestinians on-board will be questioned by Israeli security forces.

Passengers aboard the Al-Karama received food and beverages by the soldiers. Upon reaching Israel's Ashdod port, activists will undergo standard security procedures before being processed by the Ministry of Interior and the immigration authorities.

The Israel Navy is steadfast in its commitment to lawfully enforce the naval blockade on the Gaza Strip. According to international law, it is lawful for Israel to impose a naval blockade on the Gaza Strip because it is currently in a state of armed conflict with the Hamas terrorist organization, the ruling entity of the Gaza Strip (see the law of blockade for more information). The Hamas terrorist organization is designated as a terrorist entity by the US, UK, EU and state of Israel.

As part of their service, the operators teach and train soldiers to use the different systems on the Hummer, driving on various surfaces and landscapes and simulating 'combat field' scenarios. The position is very demanding: the operators take part and participate in the battalion and brigade exercises just like any soldier.
However, as mentioned in the video, the operators understand the value and significance of their service and at the end of the day, are left happy and satisfied.

Description: Last month, a group of Palestinian children from the West Bank along with their parents traveled to the Jerusalem Zoo for a day. Their trip was organized by the Civil Administration and Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. Many of the children had previously underwent open heart surgery at Hadassah, a procedure which was paid for by the hospital itself and the A Heart for Peace organization. The trip was designed to provide relaxation, learning, enjoyment and a positive experience for the children who cope with health difficulties.

Ms. Dalia Bassa, the Health and Welfare Coordinator for the Civil Administration, played an instrumental role coordinating the children's treatment at Hadassah and during their leisure trip to Jerusalem.
