This is a private member's bill, a type of public bill introduced by an individual member of the House (rather than the government). Public bills affect everyone. Private members' bills must go through the same set of procedures as other public bills.
Baroness Meacher (Crossbench), chair of Dignity in Dying and the bill's sponsor in the Lords, will open the debate.
Over 140 members are expected to take part, representing a wide range of professions and diverse personal experiences.

On Saturday 24 April 2021, a follow-up to the Lords 2017 report on Financial Exclusion was released by the House of Lords. This report examines progress to implement its recommendations and recommends the government does more to protect the half of the population that have characteristics of financial vulnerability.
