Mary Rook, special agent in charge of the FBI's Anchorage Division, describes working in Alaska.
So much is different here. It's a huge state. It's you know two-and-a-half times the state of Texas and yet we have a population of 700,000, so they're very spread out. It's hard to get from point A to point B. If you're in anchorage, there are roads to Fairbanks and there are roads down the Kenai Peninsula but other than that there are no roads. So if you want to go to the western part of the state you have to fly. If you want to go to Juneau you have to fly or take the ferry.
I've been told whenever I fly anywhere pack a change of clothes because the weather may not allow you to get back out. And I've found that to be true on a couple of occasions. And then there's the climate of the state. It really is or can be a very harsh environment. And if you'r...

- The FBI is looking for Ahmad Abousamra, a wanted fugitive since 2009.
Up to a $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his capture.
He was indicted in 2009 on nine terrorism-related charges, including conspiracy to kill American soldiers overseas.
The indictment alleges Abousamra believed there was religious justification for suicide bombings and the glory of dying on the battlefield.
Abousamra sought to attend terrorist training camps in Pakistan. He also travelled with his convicted co-conspirator to Yemen for the same purpose. Both attempts were unsuccessful.
Still, he travelled to Iraq with the hope of joining the insurgence. His activities there are largely unknown.
Abousamra is 5-11 with a thin build and he has a higher-pitched voice. Listen now to a recording of his voice:
If they don't have a warrant they don't have a right to do that. Make sure you tell you mother...

I really wanted to have some sort of an adventurous job that meant something. Not just to go to work and not contribute. I always wanted to be someone to do the right thing, to be fair and honest, and to stick up for the little guys.
At the time women became first at anything, somebody always took notice. And often it was the women that took notice because we were trying to find our way and make sure that we had the opportunities that men who were agents had. And we did.
You think about all of those people, men and women, but particularly women, the trailblazers, the women who came before me, who never got to be, for example, a supervisor, or an ASAC or a section chief, or an SE...

Finally it was before their eyes and they could actually study it and have it seen by everybody who wants to. The investigation revealed that the house where the items were found once belonged to ...
