Residents of Kimale in Solwezi District have expressed concern over the inconsistent supply of clean water in the area, describing the situation as a serious challenge affecting their daily lives.
In an interview with Diamond Media, Maureen Kyupa, a resident of Kimale, said households sometimes go up to a week without water flowing from their taps.
As a result, many families have resorted to unsafe alternatives such as shallow wells and nearby rivers.
Residents further lamented the high cost of purchasing water from neighbours and individuals with boreholes, saying the situation has placed an additional financial burden on already struggling households.
Others noted that even when water is restored, it often comes at very low pressure, making it difficult to meet daily household needs.
