The Lusaka High Court has heard that over K14 million was transferred into accounts linked to companies owned by murder accused Samuel Dokowe for goods and services that were never supplied.
Auditor General’s Office auditor Ngawa Muhande testified that the payments were irregular and falsely recorded as procurement of goods and liquidation of debt.
He said investigations revealed suspicious payments involving the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA), Zambia Revenue Authority, Airtel Networks Zambia Limited and other suppliers, but the funds were instead deposited into accounts linked to Veridain Dynamics and Digital Initiative Systems.
Court evidence further shows that bank transfer forms from Zanaco confirmed the accounts belonged to the two companies, and that the documents may have been submitted by IBA accountant Francis Chipyoka or Peter Hambiya.
