- We can’t let the year end without thanking the Queen of South Dallas, Ms. Willie Mae Coleman for supporting DW’s 5th annual Best of Black Dallas awards ceremony with her precious archive paper from 1963.
Coleman not only advocates for the #blackpress but also worked under DW’s founder, Mr. Tony Davis during the Civil Rights era. She even protested alongside him and other DW staff, while her mother watched her two young children.
When @Swan7Productions and @LabelMeExclusive tasked our CEO and Publisher with finding archives, it was a tad harder than anticipated. After help from former DW members and a few conversations with the local elders, they got it done.
We thank you Miss Willie Mae Coleman! Proving once again that we are nothing without the community that supports us.

However, critics argue that the industry does little to address the root causes of chronic stress and other conditions leading to poor health. Holistic approaches to wellness, such as connecting to nature, eating whole foods, holding space for creativity, and practicing mindfulness, can be implemented by individuals, families, and groups of friends without the need for expensive products or services. Community-based approaches to wellness that bring people together as natural support systems will be the best investment of resources for those looking to cultivate health and wellness that is transformational for all.

While older generations of educators complain about younger teachers being less hard-working, new research suggests that younger generations may be more effective with increasing students' academic performance. The difference in work ethic between the generations is a reflection of changing values and priorities, and there is a unique opportunity for older and younger teachers to work collaboratively, not combatively, to do the most good for students every day.

- The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in schools is a contentious issue, with many educators skeptical about its implementation. However, instead of attempting to stop the wave of AI, New York City Public Schools has redirected its efforts towards a more innovative approach to integrating AI district-wide. The integration of AI tools can help combat teacher burnout by expediting the time spent on ancillary tasks, allowing educators to spend more time on the heart work of connecting to students with thoughtful, transformational learning experiences. AI cannot replace teachers, but it can help teachers create assignments that require a new level of critical thinking and personalizaron on the part of their students.
