- Hundreds descended on Manchester city centre for a Britain First march, met by counter-protests and tram disruption across the network.
Greater Manchester Police arrested three people and said hundreds of officers were deployed across the city to safely manage the demonstrations.
The force reported a significantly increased, high-visibility police presence after similar protests in February, when nine men were arrested following altercations between groups.

The rate of Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation increased to 3.3% in March from 3% in February, the Office for National Statistics said.
This index, which shows how fast the prices are rising or falling in the UK, marks the first dataset since the outbreak of the US-Israel war on Iran on February 28, which first sparked fears of an inflationary shock.

- Ahead of the impending election in Birmingham, residents and bin collectors have had enough of the seemingly never-ending bin strikes taking place across the city.
The strike has been ongoing since early 2025 with Unite union and the city being unable to reach a settlement that would see bin collectors return to work and clean up the mountains of trash that can be seen across Birmingham.
Unite union rep and Birmingham City Council bin lorry driver team leader Luke Dalton spoke with the media at the workers' picket in Perry Barr ahead of next month's local elections. He reiterated that workers want to return to work and are hoping to return to the negotiating table soon.
