- Dozens of Palm Bay residents gathered at City Hall on Tuesday night to demand action against Councilman Chandler Langevin for his controversial social media posts.
Langevin is facing backlash for posts calling for the deportation of all Indians and a halt to migration from India, which many have condemned as ‘racist.’
“It’s an absolute embarrassment. What he has done is an embarrassment,” said one attendee said.
His posts include calling to “deport every Indian.” One post saying, “Indians don’t assimilate.” In another post, Langevin says “There’s not a single Indian that cares about the United States. They are here to exploit us financially and enrich India and Indians.”

- Why do trucks keep hitting Florida's highway overpasses?
- Runtime

- Description
- Again and again, overpass after overpass, similar scenes have unfolded along Interstate 75 in Marion and Sumter counties.
Just last week, troopers said a dump truck with a raised bed slammed into the County Road 320 overpass. The bridge sustained damage, debris covered the lanes and the interstate was closed for hours.
This type of crash has become all too common on I-75. In July, a truck carrying an oversized load hit the 66th Street overpass. In March, another dump truck left with its bed raised struck the County Road 475 overpass.
Florida Department of Transportation officials said all three crashes over the past six months were the result of driver error. All overpasses and bridges in Florida meet or exceed the standard 13.5-foot clearance, meaning raised truck beds and oversized loads are to blame.

Only after they pushed past his wife did deputies figure out they had the wrong man.

Sheriff Woods explained that after an extensive investigation involving local, state, and federal agencies, it was determined that Caden Speight fabricated the story of his abduction.
The investigation revealed that Caden had purchased a bicycle, tent, and camping supplies prior to reporting the incident.
“To continue the ruse, Caden, who had a handgun with him since the beginning of all of this, chose to shoot himself in the leg... There is ZERO chance that Caden’s gunshot wound came from any type of assailant,” Sheriff Woods stated.

- A truck that’s been in the Hempsted family nearly seven years was essentially taken from them, at least on paper.
“So, it’s been a huge pain, but I don’t know how else to get around it,” Christine Hempsted told Action 9 Consumer Investigator Jeff Deal.
It appears someone cloned the Orange County family’s Toyota Tacoma and registered it in another state hundreds of miles away. Christine Hempsted said she couldn’t re-register the truck in Florida after someone else registered it in Massachusetts.
Part of what makes it so bizarre is that that they’ve never had the truck out of their possession since they got it in 2018. But because someone registered it up north earlier this year, they were stuck with expired Florida tags.

- Several murals that once decorated storm drains in areas like Thornton Park and Mills 50 have recently been painted over as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is continuing its efforts to remove unauthorized street art across the state.
At the corner of Summerlin Avenue and Central Boulevard near Lake Eola, two murals that previously covered storm drains are now gone. Not far from the area, at the intersection of Marks Street and Mills Avenue, another storm drain that once featured a mural has also been painted over.
The FDOT has reported it is working in compliance with a larger initiative to ensure that all traffic control features, including painted crosswalks, bike lanes, and storm drains, follow federal regulations.
