- They’re out there every school day, standing in the middle of busy intersections with nothing more than a stop sign, a vest, and a whistle. But what you might not realize is just how dangerous the job of a school crossing guard can be.
9 investigates teamed up with our sister stations around the country and the Associated Press to identify the number of crossing guards hit or killed in the last ten years; we found no official source tracks that data nationwide.
Only two states mandate that law enforcement track and report all crossing guard accidents, Florida is not one of them.

Trump has already pushed traditional boundaries by using the National Guard domestically, envisioning a muscular role for the U.S. military in targeting illegal immigration and crime in American cities.
His attempt to deploy California National Guard members to Oregon and Texas Guardsmen to Illinois is a sprawling use of presidential power. Next steps in lawsuits filed by Democrat-led states will likely address significant questions of constitutional law, federalism and the separation of powers — setting up a potential collision between the courts and Trump's aggressive use of the National Guard.

- Under Florida law, car dealerships are supposed to pay off trade-in balances within 10 business days, but it doesn’t appear that happened for Oliver Mendoza.

- Dozens of Palm Bay residents gathered at City Hall on Tuesday night to demand action against Councilman Chandler Langevin for his controversial social media posts.
Langevin is facing backlash for posts calling for the deportation of all Indians and a halt to migration from India, which many have condemned as ‘racist.’
“It’s an absolute embarrassment. What he has done is an embarrassment,” said one attendee said.
His posts include calling to “deport every Indian.” One post saying, “Indians don’t assimilate.” In another post, Langevin says “There’s not a single Indian that cares about the United States. They are here to exploit us financially and enrich India and Indians.”
