- China hacked the mobile phones of senior officials in Downing Street for several years, The Telegraph can disclose.
The spying operation is understood to have compromised senior members of the government, exposing their private communications to Beijing.
State-sponsored hackers are known to have targeted the phones of some of the closest aides to Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak between 2021 and 2024.
It is unclear whether the hack included the mobile phones of the prime ministers themselves, but one source with knowledge of the breach said it went “right into the heart of Downing Street”.

Video footage shows Alex Pretti’s gun being taken from him by a border agent as he lies on the ground while being beaten by other officers.
As the agent runs away with Pretti’s 9mm pistol in his right hand, a gunshot can be heard in the footage posted online.

“Suppose America’s military installations in Greenland were to be converted into ‘sovereign base areas’ on the Cyprus model,” I wrote on Jan 13. “Given that this arrangement has worked for nearly seven decades on a small and crowded Mediterranean island, it should be relatively simple to replicate on a vast and largely empty territory like Greenland. Could this be the answer?”
It turned out that it might well be. On Wednesday night, Trump struck what he called a “fantastic” deal at Davos, which apparently includes turning US military facilities on Greenland into sovereign bases.

The Ukrainian president accused European leaders of engaging in “endless internal arguments” rather than helping to end the war in Ukraine or protect Greenland.
