- Description
- A group of about two dozen Buddhist monks is participating in a journey they're calling a "Walk for Peace," trekking from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C. as a way to promote a message of peace.
On Dec. 29, they passed through a suburb of Atlanta and were greeted by a huge crowd of supporters. The monks have also received support on social media through their Facebook page, where they've amassed over 400,000 followers.
“We do not walk alone," says one of the group's posts. "We walk together with every person whose heart has opened to peace, whose spirit has chosen kindness, whose daily life has become a garden where understanding grows.”

- Some South Koreans are ditching alcohol for coffee at morning raves
- Date posted
- Description
- In Seoul, the partygoers bopped their heads to club beats, holding a drink in one hand and fist-pumping with the other. The vibes were just like a typical night out here. Except it was 9 o’clock. In the morning. And the drinks? Iced Americanos.
“Morning raves” have become the latest sensation among some South Koreans in their 20s and 30s who are looking for wholesome alternatives to booze-filled nights. They’re saying “no” to soju bombs — a common after-work rite involving a shot glass of potent rice wine dropped into a glass of beer — and round after round of drinking into the night. They’re increasingly saying “yes” to morning runs and dancing while sipping on coffee.

- Why travel makes you so constipated
- Date posted
- Description
- We all poop weirdly on vacation. Our bowel movements love a routine, but when we travel, that goes awry. We’re running around and become easily stressed, which greatly alters our poop patterns.
We also tend to drink less water and eat more processed, carb-rich foods either on the go or indulging at restaurants, and we rarely get to drink coffee and exercise the same ways we do in the comfort of our home routines. (Sitting for hours on a plane isn’t helping your bowels one bit.)
Because of all of this, traveler’s constipation is quite common.
But there is a solution, and Dr. Trisha Pasricha, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and the Ask a Doctor columnist for The Washington Post, has two tips for you. Subscribe to The Washington Post on YouTube: https://wapo.st/2QOdcqK
