Lavr was found near Odesa’s railway station after a train severed both of his front paws, said Viacheslav Zaporozhets, Lavr’s owner and the center's founder.
Lavr not only inspires patients with his new paws, but also provides emotional support.
“I will walk the same way, only not on four legs, but on two,” said Ivan Zhadani, 26, who lost both legs and now uses a wheelchair.

Pacific Gas & Energy was notified at 7:35 a.m. local time that a construction crew unaffiliated with the company had “struck an underground gas line,” Tamar Sarkissian, a PG&E spokeswoman, told reporters. The company dispatched crews to the scene to isolate the damaged line, she said.
“The flow of gas was stopped at 9:25 a.m.,” she said, adding that the explosion occurred approximately 10 minutes later.
The status of the people who were taken to the hospital is unknown.
