Hospitals around Las Vegas continue to struggle with staffing issues. Nurses are part of that equation. While nursing shortages are nothing new, they have increased due to burnout from the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, local nursing programs like the UNLV School of Nursing are seeing an increased interest in new students who want to step in to help and learn. We take you inside some of their training at the Clinical Simulation Center of Las Vegas to see how they get some hands-on experience before they join the workforce!

The Southern Nevada Health District and its partners will be opening two more drive-thru Covid-19 testing sites on opposite ends of town to help with the crowds. The first will open up at Texas Station January 12th. The second location will be at Fiesta Henderson starting January 15th.
Testing at Sam Boyd Stadium also continues as the valley sees an increase in the omicron variant.

Flags are at half staff today as we remember the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Pearl Harbor survivors as well as world war 2 veterans will be in Hawaii to pay their respects to the more than 24-hundred American troops were killed in the attack. Another 12-hundred were wounded on December 7th, 1941 in the surprise Japanese attack on the U.S. naval base.
In Las Vegas Raiders news, the team has made their nomination for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
