Arriving in Turkey for business in 2016, he faced isolation when he lost contact with his family due to closed borders in 2017. Undeterred and driven, Abdusemi established the East Turkistan New Generation Youth Center.
The center has become a haven for young Uyghurs in the diaspora grappling with issues such as fighting, theft and drug abuse. Having hosted over 160 individuals, the center is a stronghold of shelter, education, and empowerment, challenging the forces seeking to undermine and disrupt lives.
