- American Ninja Warrior Joe Moravsky goes through the challenges at Myrtle Beach's Radical Ropes on Wednesday. Moravsky is vacationing with his family and drove past the course off Kings Highway and 19th Avenue South on the way to Broadway at the Beach. "I said, 'Oh yeah. We have to do this,'" he smiled as his sisters finished one section of the course. "We're here on vacation but come on we have to do this. I love ropes courses. This one is pretty tough."

South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts (S.C.U.T.E.) volunteers conduct nest "inventories" three days after spotting signs that a nest has hatched. The volunteers count the number of eggs hatched, take DNA samples, and usher any stranded hatchlings to the ocean. The inventories are also opportunities to give "Turtle Talks" to spectators about proper conservation practices such as turning lights out along the coast, and cleaning up area beaches.

The farm is located outside of Conway at the corner of S.C. 701 and Harris Short Cut Road. The next event at the farm is Fall Harvest and Syrup Day on Nov. 14. All farm events are free.

- Oyster reefs are being made of recycled oyster shells in Murrells Inlet. The beds are being made by volunteers and members of Coastal Conservation Association South Carolina, South Carolina Oyster Restoration and Enhancement and the state Department of Natural Resources. The reefs improve water quality, control erosion and provide habitats for more than 120 species. The next reef build is set to begin at 9 a.m, July 29, at Belle Isle Marina in Georgetown.

Simmons, owner of Eternal Waves Surf Shop, is gearing up for the 16th annual Guy Daniels Memorial Surfoff on Saturday and Sunday. The surfoff will be on the beach at 13th Avenue South in Surfside Beach. There will be 150 participates surfing, in an adaptive heat and in a stand up paddle race. Guy Daniels died in 1999 after collapsing while jogging. He had an undiagnosed heart condition. Daniels was a Surfside Beach native and passionate about high education, physical fitness and environmental awareness. The Guy Daniels Memorial Foundation has awarded $85,000 in scholarships to 57 local students. This year six students from Horry and Georgetown counties were awarded $1,250 in scholarships.

He has a temporary occupancy permit so he can live in his three-story home because the city has yet to resolve his landscaping choice in the setback area of his yard. Several years ago city residents could apply to the city to install pavers or other landscaping materials on the public right of way between their property and the street. Two years ago the city stopped allowing the permits creating the encroachment moratorium. Vereen's builder installed the pavers and when the home was finished Vereen faced hurdles to move into his home because of the moratorium.

Built by his father in the Bucksport community of Horry County, Graham grew up here in that home, moved from that home to New Jersey and came back home so many years later. The home sagged under the weight of time until is was no longer safe. Horry County, using a community development block grant, built Graham's new home and destroyed his childhood home. "It's good to be home," said of the new place as he nodded just outside his front door toward the bare patch. "That's like an old wound that has to heal. I'll be glad when they bring the sod." Graham's home if the first one complete using the block grant.

- Julian Betton counts at least nine bullet hole wounds on his body. He doesn't remember being shot by three officers nor them entering his Withers Swash Drive apartment in April. He said on Friday that he remembers going to the bathroom , seeing figures in the hallway coming at him and then waking up from a coma six weeks later and paralyzed in the hospital with a police officer at his bedside. The three officers are with the 15 Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit. They have been cleared of any charges by the State Law Enforcement Division. The SLED report states Betton did not fire at the officers. The shooting happened in the execution of a warrant stemming from a marijuana investigation. Officers seized less than eight ounces of marijuana, $970 in cash, an assault rifle and a handgun in the April 16 incident. Betton has been charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute but he has not been charged with weapons violations.

Silverman said his accomplishments include making sure each bus has a destination sign and having a display of bus information at the Myrtle Beach transfer station off Mr. Joe White Avenue. Silverman rides the bus on Tuesday to attend his yoga class and uses the lag time between bus stops and class schedules to walk around the area. Silverman said he's spent so much time in his life waiting on buses he uses the time to learn things such as the Declaration of Independence, sonnets by Shakespeare and numerous poems.
