- Since the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in March 2024, trucks have had to find alternate routes – often on local roads in the areas surrounding the bridge, like Dundalk.
The increase in trucks has led to significant road damage, as these local, community roads are not meant to withstand the weight of a large number of trucks.
Community members and truck drivers see worsening road quality, making it more difficult to commute due to the increased traffic and more likely to damage their vehicles.
