- First Video Emerges of 41 Workers Trapped in Collapsed Tunnel in India
This is the first footage captured of the 41 workers trapped in a tunnel for nine days, in the Uttarakhand state, India.
The endoscopic camera was slipped inside a new pipe that was drilled into the tunnel on Monday.
Workers also received their first hot meal since being trapped in the tunnel.
On Monday, rescuers blocked from reaching 41 trapped construction workers shifted to an attempt to dig toward them vertically after days of efforts have been stymied by debris and technical glitches.
A landslide on Sunday caused the tunnel in Uttarakhand to cave in after a landslide.
So far, rescuers have been drilling from the mouth of the tunnel, inwards.
But, rescuers are now also drilling from another side of the tunnel to reach the workers as quick as possible.

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels released this video showing armed men seizing an Israeli cargo ship in the Red Sea.

- Napoleon Bonaparte's Hat Fetches HUGE Sum at Paris Auction
- Date posted

- Description
- One of Napoleon Bonaparte’s signature bicorne hats just sold at auction for $2.1M.
While bicorne hats were popular in that era, the French emperor made it his signature style by wearing it ‘sideways’.
Emperor Napoleon was thought to have owned around 120 hats. Only 20 of those have survived. Most of the remaining hats are kept in museums, with only around five kept in private collections.
The auction of this hat coincided with the release of Ridley Scott’s new Napoleon blockbuster, starring Joaquin Phoenix. Which might help to explain the record $2.1M price the hat reached at auction, far higher than the original $600,000 estimate.

- Dead Whale Washes Up on Beach in Cornwall
- Date posted

- Description
- Newquay residents were saddened to find that a dead whale had washed up on Fistral Beach on Wednesday morning. Police quickly cordoned off the whale, while wildlife authorities investigated the 16.5m long animal. The Cornwall Wildlife Trust said that they believed it to be a juvenile fin whale.
While it may be a saddening sight, it is rare for large whales to get stranded on the coast of the UK. But, unfortunately, it’s far more common for smaller species to become stranded. This mass beaching of 55 pilot whales in Scotland this July was the UK’s worst-ever stranding event.
Marine biologists conducted a post-mortem on the fin whale in an attempt to determine how it died, and to see if they can learn anything about the marine ecosystem. After the post-mortem, the body was placed into a skip and removed from the beach.

Biden hoped his meeting would help stabilise relations between the two nations, which have been at a historic low.
Over the last few years the two superpowers have clashed over issues such as trade policy, sovereignty in the South China Sea and the war in Ukraine.
Before the meeting US officials played down expectations of making much progress on these more divisive issues.
But Biden hoped to ‘normalise’ relations with China by creating and repairing diplomatic and military back-channels.
In this respect, Biden claimed the meeting has been a resounding success.

The workers have been trapped since Sunday, and some of them have now apparently fallen ill. Doctors in contact with the trapped men using walkie-talkies say some of them have reported experiencing dizziness, fever and vomiting.
A landslide caused the tunnel to collapse at the weekend. It’s thought the workers are now behind around 50 metres of debris. - Iceland Volcano Eruption ‘Days Away’: Thousands Evacuated

- Thousands of people are being evacuated as fears grow that the Fagradalsfjall volcano in southwestern Iceland could erupt within days.
Increased seismic activity in the area has been causing significant earthquakes.
It is now thought a corridor of magma may extend directly underneath the fishing town of Grindavik, about 31 miles southwest of Reykjavik. Emergency services have been working through the night to help evacuate the town.
A significant earthquake hit the area on Thursday, causing the famous ‘Blue Lagoon’ geothermal resort to close.
Authorities have also raised the aviation threat alert to ‘orange’, to mark the increased risk of eruption. A major eruption in Iceland caused massive air travel disruption across the Northern Hemisphere in 2010. The particles emitted by the Eyjafjallajökull volcano were capable of damaging jet engines, and lead to around 100,000 cancelled flights.

Israeli forces said on Wednesday that 50,000 residents left northern Gaza, because they think “Hamas has lost control” of the region.
Speaking at a media briefing, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said: “There is no ceasefire. We are battling Hamas - there is no ceasefire".
IDF Forces have also confirmed the number of hostages held in Gaza is now at 239 after two bodies of Israelis were identified earlier that day.
Meanwhile in northern Gaza, babies and children are rescued from the rubble fo...

- Israeli Forces target Hamas’ Tunnel Network Under Gaza City
Israeli Forces have reportedly shown footage of the Israeli Defence Forces detonating Hamas tunnel shafts in the Gaza Strip.
Body-cam footage show the IDF moving into the tunnels which are filled with sand.
According to the IDF, "Soldiers of the Nahal Brigade conducted operational activity at a Hamas training post in northern Gaza,” where the tunnels were located.
Hamas’ subterranean network, nicknamed the ‘Gaza Metro’, has been used by militants to store weapons and launch surprise attacks on Israeli forces.
Israeli soldiers are now operating deep inside Gaza City, where Hamas' most senior leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, is believed to be trapped in a bunker.
An IDF spokesman has said "the directive is definitely to kill or capture all the leaders of Hamas”.

- 'Israel-Gaza Conflict: 41 Journalists Killed Since Start of War'.
Human rights watchdogs have described the past month of the Israel-Gaza war as the deadliest for journalists since records began.
At least 41 journalists have been killed since the start of the war, according to Reporters Without Borders.
The figure includes 36 Palestinians, four Israelis and one Lebanese journalist.
However, last month Israel told international news organisations that it could not guarantee the safety of journalists operating in the Gaza Strip.
They claim “Hamas has put its military operations in proximity to civilians and journalists.”
But Palestinian journalists say that they and their families are being deliberately targeted.
On Sunday night, Palestinian reporter Mohammad Abu Hasira was killed alongside 42 of his family members, after his home was “targeted” in Gaza City.
Last week, Mohamm...

- "No Civlians Harmed on October 7th" | Hamas Official Makes Shocking Claim

- A senior Hamas official has refused to accept that Hamas militants killed any civilians during the 7 October attacks on Israel.
In an interview with the BBC, Mousa Abu Marzouk said that "women, children and civilians were exempt" from the 7 October attack.
This claim is at odds with the reality of what happened on 7 October. There is a huge volume of evidence that unarmed civilians were deliberately targeted by Hamas.
Marzouk also claimed that he did not have a list of hostages inside Hamas’ territory, claiming the Israeli “guests” were being held by “different factions”.
Mousa Abu Marzouk is the Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau. He’s had a leading political role in Hamas since the 1980s.
Marzouk is second in command to Ismail Haniyeh, widely considered to be the overall political leader of Hamas.
The Political Bureau is Hamas’ overarching governing body. It has been based in Qatar...

- 'Israeli Military Releases New Footage Destroying Hamas Tunnels'.
The Israeli military released footage on Tuesday claiming to show its troops destroying tunnels built by Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip.
Troops have been battling Palestinian militants inside Gaza for over a week, and have succeeded in cutting the territory in half and encircling Gaza City.
An artillery unit in southern Israel, near the Gaza Strip can be seen firing at positions, as soliders resupplied shells.
The besieged territory has been pounded with intense Israeli airstrikes for weeks.
It’s setting the stage for an expected push into the dense confines of Gaza City and an even bloodier phase of the month-old war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will have “overall security responsibility” in Gaza for an indefinite period after its war with Hamas.
It’s the clearest indication yet that Israel plan...

- Palestinian PM Breaks Down In Tears As He Recounts Children Killed in Gaza
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh cried while reviewing the conditions of the people in Gaza during his opening speech at the Palestinian cabinet meeting on Tuesday in the West Bank city of Ramallah
Shtayyeh referred in the meeting to what was reported about Israel's Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu who said on Sunday that dropping a nuclear weapon on the Gaza Strip is "an option."
Eliyahu, a junior government minister, suggested in a radio interview that Israel could drop an atomic bomb on Gaza.
He later called the remarks “metaphorical.”
"This bloodthirsty person wants to kill for the purpose of killing." Shtayyeh said
Netanyahu suspended Eliyahu from cabinet meetings, a move with no practical effect.
Shtayyeh called on the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant again...

- In a radio interview, Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu said that dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza was “one of the possibilities”.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu moved quickly to remove Eliyahu from his cabinet and distance his government from the comment.
Netanyahu said Eliyahu’s comment was not ‘based in reality’ and that Israel is ‘operating in accordance with the highest standards of international law to avoid harming innocents.’
In another tweet, Eliyahu claimed his comment was only ‘metaphorical’.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Gaza has come under the most intense bombardment of the war so far. Almost constant airstrikes could be seen lighting up the night sky.
The increased strikes come as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claims it has now divided Gaza in two. In the north IDF troops are apparently ready to push into Gaza City, which is currently being hardest hit by the strike...

Hundreds of thousands of Afghans have left Pakistan in recent weeks.
It’s after Pakistan set October 31st as a deadline for illegal migrants to leave the country or face arrest as part of a new anti-migrant crackdown.
It’s drawn widespread condemnation from human rights groups.
Activists say any forced deportation of Afghans will put them at a grave risk.
Around 10,000 Afghans are now crossing the border every day from Pakistan.
Aid agencies say people are sleeping in the open, without proper shelter, food or drinking water once they cross the border to their homelands.
Kayal Mohammad lived in the northwest Pakistani city of Peshawar for 17 years.
Khayal has five children and was deported to the Afghan border almost a week ago.
He wasn’t allowed to take anything with him, so everything he and his...

Survivors of the attack searched among the charred remains in an attempt to identify their vehicles.
One survivor recalled hiding from the fighting inside her trailer with six other people including her husband for six hours.
They escaped, but the trauma remains, driving her to find the trailer and remember.

Asked how progress is coming along for a humanitarian pause, US President Joe Biden seemed positive, after a refugee camp on the Gaza strip was attacked by Israeli forces on Saturday night. The attack has left at least 38 dead, and at least 100 people injured, with children among the fatalities at the al-Maghazi camp.
This attack follows yesterday's meeting of US and Arab world leaders, where US Secretary of State Antony Blinken rejected their calls for a ceasefire, warning that the US fears it would allow Hamas to regroup and cause a repeat of 7th October terror attacks.

British comedian Russell Brand is facing fresh accusations of sexual assault from an anonymous woman who claims Brand assaulted her whilst working in New York as an extra on the set of his 2011 film Arthur.
The woman has been referred to as Jane Doe, wishing to remain anonymous, and claims the actor "appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka on set" before the assault in July 2010.
According to the papers, Brand then allegedly exposed himself to his accuser in full view of the cast and crew.
This US legal filing marks the first time such allegations against Brand have been made in a court of law, following a string of recent accusations in the British press.

- Hezbollah Leader Praises 'Heroic' Hamas Attack on Israel

- Description
- Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah broke his silence over the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza today.
The leader of the Lebanese Islamist group gave a televised speech from a secret location. He praised Hamas’ attack on Israel on 7 October, in which 1,100 civilians were killed, saying it was “right, wise and just”, but he also said the attacks were “100% Palestinian”, but did not suggest Hezbollah would join Hamas in a full-scale war against Israel.
Hezbollah is a Lebanese political party and militant group. Like Hamas, it is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK and US. Founded following the war between Israel and Lebanon in 1982, Hezbollah is closely affiliated with Iran. Hezbollah has participated in armed conflicts with Israel for decades.
Despite being a Shia Muslim group, Hezbollah has often cooperated with Sunni Muslim affiliated Hamas when fighting Israel.
Hezbollah is often considered to be the most h...

- Inside The Secret Hamas Tunnel Network Under Gaza
- Date posted

- Description
- These are the underground tunnels Hamas is using to launch deadly attacks against Israeli ground forces.
Nicknamed the ‘Gaza Metro’, Hamas has spent years building a labyrinth of tunnels underneath its territory. The Israeli military estimates there may be around 300 miles of tunnels, which are up to 45 metres deep in parts.
Many of the tunnels are reinforced with concrete. The main communications tunnels are reportedly large enough to ride through on a motorcycle. Hamas uses these tunnels to shelter from Israeli airstrikes, stockpile weapons and launch hit-and-run attacks on Israeli troops.
Footage released by Hamas on Tuesday apparently shows fighters emerging from a tunnel to attack Israeli forces.
At the heart of the tunnel networks are underground command and control centres, from which Hamas commanders coordinate their attacks. Destroying one of these control centres, Israel claims, was the reason for the deadly strike on th...
